In continuation to my last write up…..
As I was confused, where to start with, Booked my cab & start with my first visit to Lalbagh Botanical Garden The Red Garden in English, is a well-known botanical garden in southern Bengaluru, India. It has a famous glass house dating from 1889 which hosts two annual flower shows (26 January and 15 August).
The least did I know that it was just about to change my entire perception. Walking around capturing each and every sight, came across a beautiful lake. I just sat around all by myself and enjoyed the
calmness and my own company in nature's lap which we apparently do not really appreciate due to our daily hectic schedules of life.
It was hard to calculate how time just passed by and it was already 12 noon by then, the heat was killing me not only that but hunger always strikes at the right time.....But all I can say God has his own
ways and I was finally blessed with something that could not only quench my hunger but also my thirst.....“Masala Cucumber” Your right...exactly what I needed at that point.
I sat on a bench & was enjoying my cucumber, I saw lots of bird chirping. It made me realise this is also home to a few species of birds. The commonly sighted birds include Myna, Parakeets, Crows, Brahminy Kite, Pond Heron, Common Egret, Kingfisher, Spotted Owlets, Spotted kite, Spotted Pelican, Ducks, Indian Cormorant, Purple Moor Hen etc.
It was a longest garden, I ever walked!!!
Ghosh!!
But the beauty of the garden, Nature at its best, would just not let me stop, and kept me going.
Believe me, it’s worth every step...one of the beautiful historical places to visit.
As I was walking , I could see the famous glasshouse and the foundation stone of the glasshouse which is modeled after London’s Crystal Place.
However, I could barely understand each board as they were in a different language.
Since, It was close to 26th January, I was so fortunate to see the Annual flower show., Which Happened to promote flower enthusiasts and to create awareness in children as well as commoners with regards to cultivation and conservation of plants and flowers.
Amazing Splendidly beautiful. I can’t believe my eyes that I could see 1000 species of tropical flowers. It was paradise.
There are four gates in the garden. Entrance is allowed from the West-end gate which adjoins the Siddapur circle. However, the Southern gate, opening to Lalbagh road is considered to be the main gate. Eastern gate is nearby Jayanagar and Northern gate lead to the glasshouse and an exit from the garden.
I must say it is a place of serenity.
